PADI – NewReactivate Course
PADI ReActivate is simply a modern day PADI Refresher course, its replacing the Older Scuba Review Program. The use of modern day mobiles and tablets are making it easier for people to refresh scuba divers knowledge and skills that you may have forgot before going on a diving holiday or day trip. This short course will simply make it easy for you to get back into diving safely.
The PADI ReActivate program options includes the ReActivate Touch – this you can download to your I Pad, tablet or mobile device refreshing knowledge has never been so Easy for divers. when diving its always better to be over-prepared than to forget how to properly and safely complete a dive, and with the new PADI ReActivate™ program most of this is review is via multimedia files and online presentations.
The ReActivate Program Theory Portion is Fully Digital and PADI’s ReActivate Program is made up of two components: 1 a knowledge review and 2. in-water skills. The knowledge review portion of the course is fully digital. Divers choose one of two options for completing the dive theory portion of the program:
A. PADI ReActivate Touch – an interactive product for use on tablets and mobile devices. Certified Scuba Divers can purchase this either through a PADI member (such as their dive center or instructor) or through the PADI Library App from the appropriate App Store
B. PADI ReActivate Online – designed for use on personal computers . This product can be purchased from PADI members
Both of these PADI ReActivate products are sold as a ‘kit’ and include the online processing registration costs for issuing a replacement dive card. Divers purchase an access code for their material of choice and, upon completion of all topics, a quick review is administered. The digital aspect of the ReActivate program is very appealing to a large proportion of divers and makes it far more flexible learning, modern and intuitive to use. The diver can then download a ReActivate certificate as verification of completion of the online or Touch training materials. The Quick Review can also be administer to check whether the diver demonstrates mastery of the theory concepts.
The open water Scuba skills for PADI ReActivate are:
- Mask removal and replacement
- Demonstrate neutral buoyancy and hover
- Emergency weight release
- Alternate air source ascent, with the diver acting as both donor and receiver
- Any other skills the diver would like to practice, or the dive professional feels they should need.

The replacement cards are currently only available to divers who have a PADI certification. However, the program can be used to refresh the skills of scuba divers certified by any training agency. In the future, non-PADI scuba divers will receive a ReActivation card acknowledging that they have refreshed their skills and knowledge, but it won’t be a certification card.
